GATHERING INSPIRATION.

One of the first questions I ask new clients is whether they have sites - or elements from other websites - they like. It doesn’t have to be in your industry but simply components that resonate with you.

Things you might notice are:

  • layout of header and banner imagery

  • the fonts they use

  • logos (with a mark or just a font)

  • color palette (light, dark, neutral, bright)

  • type of images used

If you don’t have examples of websites, you can create a “Mood Board” which could include images you like and a list of descriptive words you would choose to represent your brand or the overall look and feel you hope to achieve. For example:

  • minimalist

  • modern

  • welcoming

  • spacious/airy

Here’s an examples of one of my favorite Inspiration (Inspo) Sites.

What I like?

I love the color palette, the placement of the oversized logo and the editorial layout of the articles. The site feels spacious and well curated.
