fonts for days….

I don’t claim to be an expert in Typography but I’m certainly an enthusiast! The right font choice can impact the overall look and feel of your site.

The basic choices are: Sans Serif and Serif. CMS tools offer an abundance of fonts to choose from but if you want something more specialized, you can download or purchase custom fonts. Just make sure you understand any restrictions on usage or copyrights.

You should also consider readability. Script might look nice but it can be more challenging to read and the whole point is to get your message across.

Sans-serif

The term comes from the French word sans, meaning "without" and "serif" of uncertain origin, possibly from the Dutch word schreef meaning "line" or pen-stroke.

serif

In typography, a serif is a small line or stroke regularly attached to the end of a larger stroke in a letter or symbol within a particular font or family of fonts.

On my site you will notice that I combine a serif with a san-serif font. Great for those of us that want the best of both worlds ;-)
