Expert Squarespace and WordPress Redesign Services
Think of us as Queer Eye for websites but with less tears…
I live for clean, modern design that is easy to navigate. Sites that are clear of clutter and allow images and concise text to tell your story and engage with your intended audience make my heart go pitter-patter. The goal is to create a flow that feels natural, inviting and responsive to various screen sizes and mobile. The good news is we aren’t starting from scratch. A few tweaks here, a new font there and just like that your site has a fresh look and improved user experience.
It’s all about the space and scale…
One of the most common issues we see is misuse of space. Either not enough breathing room to be able to appreciate the content of your website or way too much unused space. It’s also important to think about scale. In the example above look at the placement and size of the Architectural Foundation of SF logo. It’s so huge the navigation is in the middle of the home page. Also look at the featured image on the Steve Doyle site below and all of the empty space. When we used a properly sized image as the banner the site went “pop!”.
Below are a few examples of redesign projects for entertainers and musicians. Give us an audition for your project, we are great on screen, computer screens that is.
Think about your target audience and how you want them to engage with your site.
As natural creatives, artists want their sites to stand apart from others. You need a site that you can share with curators, gallerists and potential collectors. The work should be the star and easy to navigate to various collections, work or galleries. Your website should highlight your exhibitions, experience, news and press, and social media.
Pro Tips for Your Redesign Project
-
1. Evaluate what is working and what could be improved.
Think about how visitors engage with your site - or how you wish they would. Maybe it’s time to rethink the navigation, organization of content and your CTA’s. It’s also the perfect time to take stock of what you like and don’t like about your current site. It’s also great to look at other sites that you like and want to use as inspiration.
-
2. Organize your assets.
A redesign is a great time to update copy, add new work, press or news. Organize your images, make a list of any news, press or exhibits that need to be added. Outline any new pages that need to be added. Need stock images? No problem, we can help with that but think about the tone, color palette and vibe.

3. Less is more.
You want your site to express your personality but excessive use of colors and fonts can distract from your message and the overall goal of your site. Rascal Ranch and Bill O’Connell are great examples of before and after.
